First Aid Headset - 8th semester Project

The Concept

This project is based on the topic Life Science, where products aids the user in a chosen task related to life and science.

The result was Kontrol, a visionary concept that helps first aiders in search and rescue operations with advanced guidance abilities.

The project was done in the spring of 2018 in a team of five students with a joint oral exam with induvial grades given.

The unit is easy to use with three buttons (push-to-talk and volume) in a light weight construction that sits behind the ear held in place with a flexible ear-piece and a Velcro strap to make a one-size-fit-all.

Kontrol is an all-in-one communication and navigation solution for search and rescue operations in remote areas. Mesh Network enables off-grid signal and 3D audio unlocks advanced navigation abilities.

Bone Conduction audio improves the users’ awareness in understanding where outside sounds are coming from, and still take full advantage of an audio input from the headset.

Kontrol creates a 3D audio experience when navigation towards the scene, with the use of external sources, like a beacon. This enables a much improved and streamlined search experience.
